The Old Sail Loft Restaurant

Looe Cornwall UK

One of the oldest buildings in Looe, still largely preserved in its original form. The cellar & loft are known to date back at least 450 years. Reputed to be a former haunt for smugglers & sea faring men of the 16th century, it was then known locally as the 'Run' probably due to its time honoured association with smuggling which was rife along the Cornish coast.

Today the Old Sail Loft is a lovely restaurant located on Quay Street in East Looe offering a great selection of locally caught seafood & other specialities.

Some samples from our menu:

  • Monkfish - Fresh fillet of monkfish roasted and served on a bed of spinach with a course grain mustard & cider sauce

  • Sea Bass - Fresh fillets of sea bass served with a ginger wine & butter bean sauce

  • Key Largo Chicken Pie - Tender pieces of chicken breast, potatoes & fresh vegetables all cooked in a delicious creamy white wine and garlic sauce topped with a puff pastry

  • Sirloin or Fillet Steak - An 8oz Cornish sirloin or beef grilled just the way you like it and served with a Chilli & Pesto quenelle
